FMGE Syllabus and Exam Pattern : The FMGE Screening-Test (Foreign Medical Graduate Screening-Test) has been introduced through Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, “An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15th March, 2002 shall have to qualify the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE)-Screening Test.”

This year’s FMGE Screening Test will be held on 12th and 13th June . Dates of online registration for FMGE are from 13th April to 13th May . And the result will be announced by 15th July, . Here is FMGE Syllabus and Exam Pattern .

FMGE EXAM PATTERN 2018

The NBE (National Board of Examination) is the authority conducting exam of FMGE and it has declared the FMGE Exam Pattern for , June session. Students should be aware of the fact that the timings for the paper will be of 2 hours and 45 minutes, the language of both the papers will be English and each paper of FMGE will consists of 150 MCQ’s (Multiple Choice Questions) each. Students can be relieved of the rule that there will be no negative markings as such. They receive one mark for each single answer. The candidate will only be counted as FMGE qualified if he/she scores at least 50% of the total marks i.e. at least 150 marks out of total 300 marks.

FMGE EXAM SYLLABUS :

The FMGE Syllabus and Exam Pattern has been divided into Part A and Part B. The group A consists of Pre and Para Clinical Subjects, which weighs a total of 100 marks, whereas group B consists questions of Clinical subjects, and weighs 200 marks. Pre and Para Clinical subjects include questions from subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine. All this subjects carries different weightage marks according to their subjects, which will be shown in the table below.

Whereas group B, consists of the questions from Clinical Subjects which is further divided into seven categories, where the first and second category includes sub-subjects. The seven main categories are Medicine & Allied Subjects, General surgery & Allied subjects, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Community Medicine. All the subjects carry different weight and make the total of 200 marks. Detailed weightage according to their subjects is shown in the table below.
